<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To disclose an optical sensing element and an array substrate and liquid crystal display having the same. <P>SOLUTION: A gate line transmits a gate signal, a switching element is formed in a region defined by the gate line and a data line, a gate electrode is connected to the gate line, and a source electrode is connected to the data line. The optical sensing element is formed in a region defined by the gate line, data line and read-out line, which contains a first electrode to which a bias voltage is applied that repeats a fixed level, a control electrode, and a second electrode that is electrically connected to the control electrode and outputs optical leakage current generated in response to extraneous light and the bias voltage.
