<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display element with high reliability, which does not require a complicated manufacturing process, in which electrical contact between a transparent electrode and an auxiliary electrode is made sufficient so as to make the transparent electrode be stabilized and have low resistance, corrosion of the auxiliary electrode is prevented and a difference in level produced between the transparent electrode and the auxiliary electrode is made low so as to prevent alignment disorder of a liquid crystal. <P>SOLUTION: In the liquid crystal display device which comprises two sheets of substrate parts respectively having a plurality of electrodes and an alignment layer disposed so as to make both alignment layer sides be opposite to each other and a liquid crystal material sealed in a gap between both alignment layers, concerning the electrodes, the transparent electrode 13 composed of a transparent conductive film is laminated on the auxiliary electrode 12 composed of a metal or an alloy so as to cover it wherein film thickness T2 of the transparent electrode 13 is made to be two times or more and four times or less of film thickness T1 of the auxiliary electrode 12. The surface difference t in level between a region A on which only the transparent electrode 13 is disposed and a region B on which the transparent electrode 13 and the auxiliary electrode 12 are disposed is 0.02 μm or more and 0.05 μm or less in an average value. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
