PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a receiving metal fitting for a shelf plate capable of being easily, surely and strongly attached to a vertical member. SOLUTION: The receiving metal fitting 1 for the shelf plate comprises a metal fitting main body 4 abutted to the shelf plate 3 to be disposed between the respective vertical members 2 to support it, double locking pieces 5 integrally formed on one side of the metal fitting main body 4, and a locking screw member 6 screwed to the metal fitting main body 4 from the other side, for which a pushing and widening part 6a is formed at the screw side tip part. Then, the double locking pieces 5 are pushed and widened by the pushing and widening part 6a and locked to the locking groove 2a of the vertical member 2. Thus, by a series of simple work of inserting the double locking pieces 5 of the metal fitting main body 4 to the locking groove 2a of the vertical member 2, screwing the locking screw member 6 and pushing and widening the double locking pieces 5 by the pushing and widening part 6a, the attaching work of the receiving metal fitting 1 for the shelf plate of locking it to the locking groove 2a of the vertical member 2 is easily, surely and strongly executed.
