PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image browsing device which effectively generates summary contents, even if transmission error is contained in received moving picture contents. SOLUTION: The browsing device comprises a contents receiver 11 for receiving moving picture contents, a data memory 12 for storing the received moving picture contents, a rank calculator 15 for generating rank information showing the degree of importance of each of frames constituting the received moving picture contents, a digest generator 13 for generating a digest being the summarized moving picture contents, and a contents regenerator 14 for regenerating the moving picture contents or the digest. The regenerator 14 extracts feature parameters and frame errors from each frame of the received moving picture contents, and the rank calculator 15 generates the rank information after excluding the feature parameters of the frames containing errors on the basis of information of the feature parameters and the frame errors extracted by the contents regenerator 14.
