OPTICAL MODULE AND OPTICAL RECEIVER

摘要

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical module and an optical receiver which are freed from dependence on polarization and electrical crosstalk utilizing a monitor element of the simplified structure. SOLUTION: The optical module 1 is provided with an optical conductor monitor element 3 and an avalanche photodiode 5. The optical conductor monitor element 3 receives a signal beam L1 from an optical transmission medium 7. The avalanche photodiode 5 receives a light beam L2 having passed the optical conductor monitor element 3. According to this optical module 1, the signal S1 for controlling operations of the avalanche photodiode 5 can be obtained by utilizing the optical conductor monitor element 3.
