METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR OPERATING PRINTER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a high-quality printing of image by dynamically compensating a difference between a height of a swath actually printed and a height of a nominal swath. SOLUTION: An incremental printer (20) adapted so as to print an image in a series of the swaths is provided. In this incremental printer (20), when the swaths (91-93) are printed, the printer comprises a sensor (80) adapted so as to determine the height of the swath on which the image is printed by scanning the swaths (91-93), and the printer (20) is controlled so as to take a consideration on the determined height when the following swath of the image is printed.
