PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an evaporative concentration method capable of suppressing the occurrence of bubbles in an evaporative concentration process of a waste liquid to reduce the amount of a defoaming agent to be used and capable of stably evaporating and concentrating the waste liquid even if a heating evaporation vessel is not returned to atmospheric pressure, and an evaporative concentration apparatus. SOLUTION: The defoaming agent is added halfway in waste liquid circulating piping 27 for circulating the waste liquid from the lower part of the heating evaporation vessel 11 to the upper part thereof and the waste liquid is sprinkled from the shower port 9 installed at the upper part of the heating evaporation vessel.
