The method involves storing a post-processing process with all sub-processes for an interruption prior to its normal completion, with all process data that are current at that time, so that the image processing station (23,24) is made available for a further post-processing process. When there is a renewed call, the original post-processing process is continued in the process state existing the time of interruption. Independent claims are included for : (1) an image processing system; and (2) a computer program product.
