PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a long time from being required for finding out an M-icon actually used for editing or searching a required scene or to prevent oversight of the icon or scene in the case of time-sequentially displaying M-icons indicative of contents when a file (moving image) recorded in a magnetic storage device is read out for editing. SOLUTION: The present invention comprises a function for specifying an M-icon (cut) including a frame to be detected out of a plurality of M-icons by image processing, and a function for designating a method of displaying (a way of arranging) M-icons.
