The element comprises two parallel concrete sections (1, 2) reinforced with thin sheet metal profiles (4) and interlocking via Z, U or L- shaped cross-sections in order to compensate for primary and secondary bending forces. A thin cast glass or fibre-reinforced concrete slab (4) between the two concrete sections provides protection against the weather, absorbs vertical loads and forms the beam web in the I-beam type construction in which the two concrete sections define the beam flanges. Fasteners (5) are used to secure and space apart the reinforcing profiles in the mould during casting and to secure the facade elements to a lifting device. An independent claim is also included for a method for constructing the facade element by mounting the mould in a vertical upright position in the building frame and introducing concrete via connections in the lower part of the mould.
