The present invention relates to a device for forming powdered material, comprising an impact ram (2) arranged to exert an impact action via a forming tool against powdered material placed in a forming space for forming thereof, the impact ram (2) having a first surface (6a) arranged to be subjected to the pressure from a pressure medium in an impact ram chamber (5a) of the device so as to thereby achieve a working stroke of the impact ram (2) in its striking direction. The device comprises an appliance (20) that is arranged to press the impact ram (2) against said forming tool by exerting a press force against a second surface (7) of the impact ram (2) secluded form said first surface (6a) so as to thereby achieve a pre-compaction of said powdered material. The invention also relates to a corresponding method for forming powdered material. |
