A needle bearing journalling a universal joint spider trunnion 4 comprises an outer race 6 with an end portion 9 of reduced outer diameter formed with a radially inwardly directed flange 10, an elastic seal 11 on the trunnion slidably engaging the flange 10, and a cover 13 covering seal 11 and forming a gap seal with said portion 9. The race is formed without cutting and is cup-shaped. The seal 11 may be of V-section. A further seal 14 may be positioned between flange 10 and the needle ends. The base of the cover is connected, e.g. by glueing, to a shoulder on the trunnion. |
