An article excellent in waterdrop slippage from the article surface. This article can be produced by a first method comprising: (a) the step of mixing a silica precursor sol, (i) 0.1 to 10 wt.% alkoxy-terminated dimethylsilicone represented by the general formula [1] based on the total amount of the silica to be generated from the silica precursor sol, and (ii) a fluoroalkylsilane represented by the general formula [2] to prepare a coating fluid; and (b) the step of applying the coating fluid to a base.
