PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a trap capable of trapping day and night insect pests including moths lured by luring lamps and sexual pheromone attractant. SOLUTION: The insect pest trap has the following construction: The top of a cylinder 2 set upright at the center of the bottom of a trap vessel 1 is fitted with a transparent conical cover 3 inclined at 45°or greater so as to turn its larger-diameter part upward, the top opening of the cover 3 is covered with a thermal insulation plate 4, which, in turn, is capped with an umbrella-shaped cover 5, a luring lamp 7 is hung at the center of the thermal insulation plate 4, and an insect attractant container case 8 is mounted on the flank of the cylinder 2 so that the container case 8 comes to just the water level when the trap vessel 1 is filled with water. This insect pest trap is so designed that insect pests gathered at the luring lamp impinge on the slope of the transparent conical cover and fall down into the trap vessel filled with water.
