PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrical connector, in which continuity tests can be carried out in both cases, when a retainer is at a temporary locking position enabling the contact to be inserted into a housing, and when the retainer is at the final locking position ensuring prevention of the falling out of the contact. SOLUTION: The electric connector 1 is provided with an insulation housing 10, a contact 20 housed in the housing 10, a retainer 30 which is inserted from the front face of the housing 10 and locked to the housing 10 at the temporary locking position enabling insertion of the contact 20 into the housing 10, and at the final locking position ensuring prevention of the falling out of the contact 20. First apertures 13, 14, 15 are formed in the housing 10 which make the conduction probe 40 accessible to the contact 20, when the retainer 30 is at the temporary locking position. A second aperture 38 is formed in the retainer 30, which makes the conduction probes 53, 54 accessible to the contact 20, when the retainer 30 is at the final locking position.
