When the container is tempered with the tag is disabled and this is detected. The apparatus may also comprise a tag system for use with a container having a metal closure, the system being mounted internally or externally of the metal closure. The apparatus may also be adapted to verify the payment of taxes using an RFID tag mounted on the container.</p>
