Memory device (14) for use in executing a computer program in a fully open or partially open notebook computer without the necessity for loading a standard windows operating system. The computer has a central processing unit (10), firmware (12) or BIOS and an inventive memory device that can be inserted or plugged in and has a special program with a control connection by means of which the CPU generates data access and a playback unit (16) which can be controlled using the playback function of the special program. The memory device is some form of memory or flash card, while the playback unit is typically an MP3 player.
