<p>There is described a adhesive composition of improved clarity comprising: (d) from about 20 % to about 80% by weight of a water soluble acrylic resin; (e) from about 2% to about 20% by weight of a crystalline resin adhesive component; (f) from about 20% to about 90% by weight of a tackifier resin having a refractive index within about 10% of the refractive index of the adhesive component (a); and (d) from about 0.01% to about 1% of a cross-linker and/or cross-linking catalyst.</p>
