<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a holder for an article enabling the easy locking/unlocking thereof. <P>SOLUTION: An engagement member 1 is formed such that an engagement part 2 is vertically installed on a plate body 1a longer in one direction and a proper clearance is provided between the plate body 1a and a first article 8 (cellular phone 8a) when the engagement member 1 is fitted to the first article 8. Also, a holding member 9 is formed of a storage part 11 which forms an engagement receiving part 15 automatically engageable with the engagement part 2 of the engagement member 1 and a part or all of which having movable walls 13 opposed to each other through the same or slightly larger clearance in the shorter direction of the plate body 1a of the engagement member 1 in the engaged state can be moved and automatically returned.
