PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily display a tomogram of a region of interest in a subject such as a lesion like a tumor or a characteristic region inside a body cavity. SOLUTION: The apparatus comprises an input device 8, an image processing device 10 and a monitor 9. The input device 8 specifies and inputs two specified points on a displayed two-dimensional ultrasonic tomogram, and specifies and inputs a rotation angle to a reference section passing the rotation axis which is a straight line passing at least the two specified points. The image processing device 10 has a control part 13 for preparing a tomogram of a specified section with the rotation angle to the reference section based on the two-dimensional ultrasonic tomogram.
