PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a devil's tongue jelly-formed material collapsing its shape and falling into pieces by immersing it with water or pouring water on it and also capable of controlling its collapsing time. SOLUTION: This devil's tongue jelly-formed material is obtained by putting a sol-gel state devil's tongue jelly adjusted in a pH range where its insolubilization is incomplete in a desired mold and drying. By immersing the devil's tongue jelly-formed material with water or pouring water on it, its shape is collapsed into pieces. Also there is a correlation between the pH of the sol-gel state devil's tongue jelly and the collapsing time of the devil's tongue jelly-formed material. From the above results, by only controlling the pH of the sol-gel state devil's tongue jelly, it is possible to control the shape-collapsing time of the devil's tongue jelly between several seconds to several hours.
