PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a flux cored wire for gas shielded arc welding with a seam which can improve straight advancing properties and can prevent meandering bead. SOLUTION: In this flux cored wire, a metallic outer skin is tubulated, a flux is filled thereinto, followed by the formation of a metallic pipe which is then wire drawn to complete the flux cored wire for gas shielded arc welding. The ratio of the range of true tensile strength as measured by flux filled state to the range of true tensile strength as measured by flux unfilled state is expressed by the following formula wherein R<SB>rcts</SB>represents the range of true tensile strength as measured by flux filled state and R<SB>ucts</SB>represents the range of true tensile strength as measured by flux unfilled state.
