<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide technology for speedily selecting target program information without damaging energy saving property in a teletext reception device. <P>SOLUTION: Count of integrating time is started with start of an operation (S101). Then, present time is judged (S102). It is judged whether integration time elapses for not less than three hours or not when a time band is 22:00 to 6:00 (S103) and whether integration time elapses for not less than one hour or not in the case of the other time band (S104). When prescribed time does not elapse, time integration is continued (S108 or 109). When prescribed time elapses, teletext broadcast is received (S105), and acquired character information is stored in a memory part 26 (S106).
