PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a battery device capable of accurately detecting temperature of a battery module and controlling each battery module, according to the condition of its temperature. SOLUTION: A battery box 10 comprises a battery module 12 having a plurality of batteries 11 connected in series, a gap-retaining member 14 for retaining a predetermined space between the plurality of battery modules, and a case side surface part orthogonal to the longitudinal direction of the battery module 12. On the case side surface part, an insertion hole 42 for a temperature detection element 21 is formed at a position opposite to the space-retaining member 14 abutting against the case side surface part. The temperature detection element 21 and its wiring 22 are inserted through the insertion hole 42. The wiring 22 is housed in a wiring grooves 15, 26 formed in the space retaining member 14, and the temperature detection element 21 is arranged between the battery module 12 and the space-retaining member 14.
