PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rotation detection device assembleable in a proper state on a hub of a wheel without damaging a component of the rotation detection device, even when the rotation detection device is disposed on the wheel in an improper state. SOLUTION: This rotation detection device comprises a housing having an insertion part for inserting an axle and a peripheral part enclosing the insertion part; a detection object mounted on the insertion part, disposed on the hub of the wheel of a two wheeler, and rotated together with the wheel; a magnetic detection means for detecting rotation of the detection object; and an elastic sealing member mounted on the housing. The detection object includes a detection part for detecting rotation by the magnetic detection means; and a rotation transfer part comprising an elastic member for receiving the rotation of the wheel, and also includes a projection part capable of abutting on the sealing member when the detection object is disposed on the hub in the improper state.
