PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an exhaust pipe device, reducing or preventing the occurrence of impact sound when an engine is started or stopped. SOLUTION: A small-diameter part 32 of a holding pipe 3 is fitted and fixed to the downstream end part of an upstream exhaust pipe 2. The small-diameter part 33 of the holding pipe 3 is fitted and fixed to the upstream end part of a downstream exhaust pipe 4. A catalyst carrier 6 is fitted and fixed through a metallic mesh 7 to the inside of a large-diameter part 31 formed in the central area of the holding pipe 3. The holding pipe 3 is provided with a cover 5 covering the outside thereof. Fitting cylindrical parts 54, 55 are formed on one end part and the other end part of the cover 5. The fitting cylindrical part 54 is fitted and fixed to the outer periphery of the small-diameter part 32. The inner peripheral surface of the fitting cylindrical part 55 is provided with a projection 55b having a circular section and extended in the axial direction. Three or more projections 55b are formed and disposed at spaces from each other in the circumferential direction of the fitting cylindrical part 55.
