PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a digital broadcasting receiver with an external input terminal in which cost of a memory in use is reduced. SOLUTION: The digital broadcasting receiver includes: a video format detection section for an external video signal input; and a write control means for determining a storage method of line data to a color difference signal display memory according to a format detected by the video format detection section, and degrades the resolution of color difference signals when the format indicates a high resolution and stores the resulting signals to reduce a memory band and a memory capacity, and stores the color difference signals without degrading the resolution when the format indicates a low resolution to attain display while maintaining the image quality, thereby reducing the cost required for the memory.
