摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical module in which a carrier where an optical element is loaded can be easily positioned and fixed with high accuracy to an optical fiber fixed to a mount substrate. SOLUTION: The optical element module (A) comprises an optical fiber 2a, an optical connecting means (an optical fiber 2a and its end face 2d) connected to the optical fiber 2a, and a carrier 4 where an optical element 5 is loaded, all mounted on a mount substrate 1. The carrier 4 has an electrode 4b on its upper face 4a to mount the optical element 5 and has a groove 4e having a V-shaped cross section on the lower face 4d so that the carrier is positioned by bringing the groove 4e having a V-shaped cross section into contact with the optical connecting means (optical fiber 2a). The carrier 4 where the optical element 5 is loaded can be easily positioned with high accuracy on the optical connecting means (optical fiber 2a and its end face 2d) fixed to the mount substrate 1, and can be mounted while aligning the optical axes of both elements with high accuracy.
