PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an environment-considerate gasoline having a decreased effect on the environment, by extremely reducing a sulfur content thereof, and to provide a method for producing the same. SOLUTION: This method for producing the environment-considerate gasoline comprises fractionating a naphtha formed by a fluidized catalytic cracking process to obtain a light naphtha fraction containing not more than 10 vol% of olefins having a carbon number of 7 or more and a heavy naphtha fraction containing not more than 1.4 vol% of olefins having a carbon number of 5 or less, then subjecting the heavy naphtha fraction to hydrodesulfurization to obtain a desulfurized heavy naphtha fraction, and further blending the desulfurized heavy naphtha fraction in an amount of≥25 vol% and the light naphtha fraction in an amount of≥20 vol%. Further, the environment-considerate gasoline has the total sulfur content of≤10 ppm by mass, a content of sulfur derived from thiols of≤3 ppm by mass, a ratio of a content of sulfur derived from aliphatic thiols having a carbon number of 7 or more to the content of the sulfur derived from the thiols of≥50 mass%, and a research octane number of 89-96.
