PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a centrifugal blood pump saving an electric power and miniaturizing the device while retaining the durability. SOLUTION: This centrifugal blood pump 10 is provided with a housing 12, an impeller 30 stored in the housing 12 and having a driven magnet 44, and a drive unit 60 closely disposed in the opposite side of an inflow port 14 of the housing 12 and rotating the impeller 30 from the outside of the housing 12 by a magnetic coupling comprising a driving magnet 64 and the driven magnet 44. This pump is further provided with an annular vertical surface 40a disposed in the side of the inflow port 14 of the impeller 30 perpendicularly to the rotation axis C1 of the impeller 30 and formed with a plurality of diametrical grooves; an annular opposite surface 22a disposed in the housing 12 being in opposite to the vertical surface 40a and in parallel with the vertical surface 40a; and a dynamic pressure bearing, when the impeller 30 is rotated at a high speed, supporting a floating load of the impeller 30 by the vertical surface 40a, the opposite surface 22a, and the blood interposed therebetween.
