PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sheet capable of returning to soil and being utilized as a compost as a substitute of agricultural vinyl sheets which are difficult to be disposed as industrial waste materials. SOLUTION: This sheet is obtained by crushing the cut branches of fruit trees, etc., as fine chips, adding caustic soda, boiling and beating, flowing the beaten material on an endless metal net having a fine mesh and drying to produce a sheet-formed material having 0.03-2 mm thickness. Thereby, since it has a water-retaining property and heat-insulating property, prevents the grows of weeds, returns to the soil even by leaving it and becomes the compost, it can be effectively utilized for the treatment of the industrial waste materials.
