PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce calculation processing required for the correction processing of a projected image. SOLUTION: Plane equation coefficients of at least one or more planes constituting the view volume of an observer are inputted, and a correction video image is generated using three-dimensional coordinates of a projection surface so that a projection image inputted into a projecting apparatus for projecting information for the projection surface can be observed without distortion. This apparatus is configured of a video input section 1 for inputting an projecting image, a projection surface shape acquiring section 2 for acquiring the three-dimensional coordinates of the projection surface, a clipper 3 for selecting the three-dimensional coordinates used in generating a correction video image from the three-dimensional coordinates by using the plane equation coefficient, a video image corrector 4 for applying geometric transform to the projection image by utilizing the selected three-dimensional coordinates to generate a corrected video image, and a video image output section 5 for projecting and outputting the corrected video image. The apparatus also comprises a configuration for acquiring the three-dimensional coordinates of the projection surface from a projection surface shape database, and a configuration for acquiring the visual point position of an observer by a visual point position acquiring section and a clip surface calculator.
