PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tire molding apparatus which can control case tension when a tire is vulcanized/molded and a method for producing the tire while controlling the case tension. SOLUTION: An upper mold 10 for molding the upper half of the tire 6 and a lower mold 11 for molding the lower half of the tire are separated from each other, and a green tire G is arranged between the upper mold and the lower mold. After that, a spacer 5 for regulating the vertical distance between the upper mold 10 and the lower mold 11 is set between the split surface 26 of the upper mold 10 and the split surface 26 of the lower mold. The upper mold 10 and the lower mold 11 are made to approach each other, the green tire G is pressed by the upper mold 10 and the lower mold 11, a bladder 4 is contacted with the inner surface of the green tire G, and the green tire G is shaped by the bladder 4.
