PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a roll kneader capable of being provided with a recovery conveyor of a scattered kneading material and a roll working accessory such as a feed cutter or the like without exerting an effect on the operabilities of both of them, and a kneading method using it. SOLUTION: In the roll kneader 10 for charging a kneading material C in the gap between a pair of first and second rolls 11 and 12 mutually different in rotational speed to knead the same, the roll working accessory 14 is arranged on the side of the first roll 11 and the recovery conveyor 13 moved along the second roll 12 from the underside between the first and second rolls 11 and 12 is provided on the side of the second roll 12 while a changeover means for altering the magnitude relation between the rotational speeds of the first and second rolls 11 and 12 is provided.
