PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image recording system for a pipeline construction route capable of efficiently performing the examination on the selection of the pipeline construction rout and construction planning such as design and construction by recording video images around the predicted construction route together with position information by GPS. SOLUTION: The GPS (global positioning system), a recording medium in which map information is recorded, a video camera photographing the periphery of the planned construction route, a personal computer displaying the position information by the GPS, maps, and the images of the camera on a same screen, and an image recording system formed of a digital recorder storing the displays on the screen of the personal computer are mounted on a vehicle running on the planned pipeline construction route. The maps and position information caught by the GPS are synchronized with each other and stored in the digital recorder together with the images showing the peripheral states photographed by the video camera while running on the planned construction route for use as the selection/construction planning of the pipeline construction route.
