PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an audio device capable of preventing a music medium from being ejected while automatically recording on the music medium and saving user's trouble in operation when performing automatic recording. SOLUTION: When a CD is loaded, the audio device starts reproducing/automatically recording the CD (a step 101), discriminates a sound output mode (a step 102), and sets the sound output mode set by a user (a step 103), and, displays an output operation mode, such as "CD is being reproduced" and "FM broadcasting", on a display section (a step 104). Then, the audio device discriminates whether or not the ejection operation of the CD is made (a step 105). When the ejection operation is performed, the audio device displays the noncompletion of recording (a step 106). Then, the audio device discriminates whether or not the user instructs the interruption of the automatic recording (a step 107). When the user instructs the interruption of the automatic recording, the audio device interrupts the automatic recording (a step 108), ejects the CD (a step 109), and terminates a program.
