PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermal head which is designed for the purpose of restraining the generation of creases during taking up an ink ribbon while eliminating a decrease in the heat release value between heating resistors of the thermal head, and a thermal transfer printer using this thermal head. SOLUTION: This thermal head 1 is structured of a plurality of heating resistors which are arranged in a main scanning direction and also arranged obliquely in a paper feeding direction and symmetrically in the main scanning direction. In addition, the apex of an angle formed of the corresponding right/left thermal resistors is opposite to the paper feeding direction and is further so sharp as to be 2θ. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
