A balloon inflation and air containment device (70) is provided. The device (70) includes a first tube (10) with a first end which receives an air supply and a second end which receives a mouth of a balloon (20). A collapsible second (11) tube is axially sealably connected to the first tube (10) and extends away from the first tube (10). A method for constructing a balloon assembly with the above-described device is also provided.
