CaO-MgO-SiO2 BASED BIOACTIVE GLASS AND SINTERED CALCIUM PHOSPHATE BODY USING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide bioactive glass whose glass transition temperature and/or crystallization temperature is low and a crystallized glass compound sintered calcium phosphate body of high biocompatibility and high mechanical strength, which can be manufactured at a low temperature by using the bioactive glass.

SOLUTION: The composition of the bioactive glass of 20 to 40 mol% of CaO, 40 to 60 mol% of SiO2and 10 to 20 mol% of MgO practically provides the bioactive glass whose glass transition temperature and/or crystallization temperature is low. Also, by adding the bioactive glass as a sintering aid, the sintered calcium phosphate body of the high biocompatibility and the high mechanical strength is obtained.
