PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To utilize a cellulose ester film so as to adjust a retardation value. SOLUTION: The cellulose ester film whose retardation value in the thickness direction is a negative value is used. The cellulose ester film having a negative retardation value in the thickness direction can be realized, for example, by the adjustment of the substitution degree, the modification of the production conditions and the selection of the solvent.
