PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device in which write time to a liquid crystal cell is made constant independently of frequencies of synchronizing signals supplied to the liquid crystal display device and the degradation of display quality is prevented. SOLUTION: The liquid crystal display device has a liquid crystal panel in which liquid crystal cells are arranged on intersection parts of scanning lines and data lines. Image signals and synchronizing signals are supplied via external terminals, respectively. A timing controller generates drive timing of the scanning lines and the data lines in response to the synchronizing signals. Further, the timing controller changes at least either of the drive timing of the scanning lines and the drive timing of the data lines in accordance with the period of the synchronizing signals in order to make the write time of the image signals supplied to the liquid crystal cells constant. As a result, even when the periods of the synchronizing signals are changed, the write time can be made constant and the degradation of display quality can be prevented. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
