<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a joint capable of easily connecting a grip bar in fine appearance without lowering strength at a bent part of a handrail. <P>SOLUTION: This universal joint for the handrail comprises a pair of end members 1 into which the ends of the grip bar are inserted, and a spherical body 2 for connecting these end members 1. The spherical body 2 is constituted by connecting a pair of hemispherical bodies 3 in a relatively turnable manner by a bolt 12, and bosses 4 are symmetrically provided at the peripheral edge parts of the respective hemispherical bodies 3. A recess 9 of each end member 1 is fitted to the boss 4 of each hemispherical body 3, and a bolt 15 is screwed into a threaded hole 5 of the boss 4 from the outside of the recess 9 through a through hole 10 to connect each hemispherical body 3 and each end member 1 turnably. Each end member 1 is rotated at an optional angle to the spherical body 2 to easily connect the grip bar B in fine appearance at various bent parts while securing strength to load by fitting the boss 4 to the recess 9. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
