PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wireless LAN system capable of transmitting IPv6 packets by high transmission efficiency over an IPv4 network. SOLUTION: When an access point 1 receives an encapsulated packet from a network 7 (#a), it converts the packet into a packet having a compressed header made by compression of the encapsulated header of the encapsulated packet to transmit to a wireless LAN terminal 2. When the wireless LAN terminal 2 receives the packet having the compressed header from the access point 1, it restores the encapsulated packet from the packet having the compressed header to transmit a network (#b) 7 connected to the own terminal.
