PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vertical recording magnetic head capable of suppressing recording fringing, and substantially increasing the number of coil winding times. SOLUTION: This head is provided with a reading part H<SB>R</SB>, and a perpendicular recording magnetic head H1 formed above the reading part H<SB>R</SB>. In a first magnetic part 160 or a second magnetic part 161 constituting the perpendicular recording magnetic head H1, a first coil layer 108 is formed between one magnetic part positioned on the reading part H<SB>R</SB>, and the reading part H<SB>R</SB>, a second coil layer 114 is formed between one magnetic part and the other magnetic part, and these two coil layers 108 and 114 constitute a troidal coil layer 120 around one magnetic part. To cancel the magnetic flux of a leaked magnetic field based on a recording magnetic field generated only in the two coil layers 108 and 114 by a magnetic flux generated in the first coil layer 108, the magnetic flux of the leaked magnetic field is effectively canceled and thus recording fringing is effectively suppressed.
