PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a foreign matter entry prevention device capable of preventing foreign matter from entering a water drain pipe and performing smooth water drain treatment. SOLUTION: This device is constituted in such a way that a foreign matter entry prevention net 2 (21, 22, 23) is erected along a fringe of a scupper 4a when grating 1 is at a position in an open condition and large amount of drainage is treated. Consequently, foreign matter 10 in the drainage can be removed in front of the scupper 4 by the foreign matter entry prevention net 2, it becomes unnecessary to remove the foreign matter 10 from the inside of the water drain pipe 4, and water drain treatment is smoothly performed.
