PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a miniaturized and cost-reduced hoisting machine for a gearless elevator with the improved maintenance efficiency of its motor or its brake. SOLUTION: This hoisting machine comprises a sheave 13 fixed to a rotational shaft 12, at least two electric motors 14, 15 provided at one end of the rotational shaft 12 of the sheave 13 in the axial direction for driving the sheave 13, and a brake disk 24 of the sheave 13 fixed to the other end of the rotational shaft 12 of the sheave 13 in the axial direction.
