PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide shape retaining materials for a diaper which is formed of resin, enables to prevent the hanging of an absorptive body and the leak of excretion in the case of urination or defecation, has small environmental load when disposed of, and is easily incinerated or recycled, and to provide the diaper using the materials. SOLUTION: The diaper 5 comprises: the shape retaining materials 1 for the diaper including a resin sheet with an elongation modulus of≥10 GPa(it is preferably an oriented olefin resin sheet with a 13-40 times draw ratio); a diaper body 51; a long waterproof film 2 for covering the outer surface of the diaper body 51; and the absorptive body 3 interposed between the diaper body 51 and the waterproof film 2. A plurality of pieces of shape retaining materials 1 for the diaper are arranged substantially in parallel along the longitudinal direction of the waterproof film 2 or at least two pieces are arranged on the waterproof film 2 so as to be crossed into an X shape.
