An electric socket member of the kind described in the parent Specification comprises a U-shaped contact spring 1, the legs of which are extended inwardly to provide contact portions with contact surfaces facing each other, and a U- shaped strengthening spring 2 embracing the said contact portions and slidably mounted in grooves in the spring 1. A rearwardly extending strip portion 3 of the spring 1 is folded back and a soldering eyelet 4 is formed at its end by displacing material in opposite directions from the plane of folding. The eyelet may be formed elsewhere than at the end of the extension 3, the two strips being spot-welded together, and may be of polygonal cross-section. Some part of either strip may be removed at the eyelet to facilitate soldering (Figs. 2 to 7, not shown).
