The shock absorber has a main body (1) from which a hydraulic rod (11) projects, both enclosed by a coil spring (12). The main body is coupled at one end to a pressure chamber (13) containing a sliding piston (14) and filled at its opposite end with hydraulic oil. The pressure chamber has an air inlet (16) at one side, for pumping air into the pressure chamber and an attached pressure indicator (2) for measuring the air pressure within the pressure chamber.
