DIGITAL BROADCAST RECEIVER AND DIGITAL BROADCAST RECEIVING METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a digital broadcast receiver and digital broadcast receiving method in which hardware is reduced and power consumption is reduced by selectively performing channel decoding only on a channel selected by a user.

SOLUTION: The digital broadcast receiver of a code division multiplexing type includes: a demodulation section 320 for demodulating a certain channel in code division multiplexed channels; a deinterleave section 330 for deinterleaving the demodulated channel; a channel switching section 340 for selectively switching a predetermined channel selected by a user in the deinterleaved channels, a channel decoding section 350 for performing channel decoding on the switched predetermined channel; and a control section 380 for controlling the channel switching section 340 to switch the predetermined channel selected by the user in the deinterleaved channels.
